BROOKLYN, NY - At Brooklyn College in New York, the Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club defeated the USISL's Richardson Rockets 1-0, to win the club’s second US Open Cup title. Ernest Inneh scored the lone goal for Brooklyn in the sixth minute, who played most of the match down a man, after current Real Salt Lake president Bill Manning was sent off after 22 minutes. The club last won the tournament in 1979.
Here's a video of Bill Manning talking about that win and his role in the game!
