2 Brooklyn Italians players join St. John's

BROOKLYN, NY - Ahmad Elfaham and Benny Lafortune join the Division 1 soccer team at St. John's University under coach Dave Masur. Elfaham and Lafortune have played for the Brooklyn Italians throughout their club careers.

"It's basically a life changing experience," said Elfaham. "When I walk around wearing the St. John's soccer shirt, I get lots of respect and I love that. It feels great to be apart of St. John's soccer."

Lafortune is excited to join a program with a great history. "I'll get to play at the highest level and against the best colleges in the country."

Both players are excited to play under the guidance of coach Dave Masur. Lafortune says, "it's a great learning process because he focuses a lot on the tactical side of the game and the small details." He also thinks that Masur's feedback is extremely helpful to his development.

Elfaham credited the club with preparing him for this level of soccer. "I'm fitting in really well," said Elfaham. Both players have also promised to come back and play with our Men's side in the off-season.

The entire organization would like to congratulate both Benny and Ahmad for their achievement. We wish them the best of luck in their college careers!
