Partnership with West Ham United

Director Casciato with Ben Illingworth, COO at West Ham United

BROOKLYN, NY - Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club is delighted to announce a partnership with West Ham United FC of the English Premier League. From 1966 World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore, to more recent internationals such as Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand, the Hammers can point to a proven track record of identifying and nurturing great players at their “Academy of Football”, the name given to one of the most successful youth academies in the world.

“I’m delighted we were able to come to an agreement with West Ham”, said Director of Coaching, Dominic Casciato.

“What appealed to me most was that they have a proven track record of nurturing top players and giving them opportunities. Most European clubs coming to the USA are just looking to make money or increase brand awareness, but West Ham have signed four players to professional deals from their overseas affiliates in the last few years, and have several younger players heading to their academy during school breaks throughout the year. This is a genuine partnership that aims to help both clubs, and it’s a great opportunity for our best players to succeed at the highest level”.

As part of the partnership, West Ham will be sharing their academy curriculum with the Brooklyn Italians, and will be sending their youth academy coaches to New York in the summer to run a week-long training camp for players from July 5th - 8th. Brooklyn Italians coaches will be observing the camp and assisting the academy coaches, and will also be enrolled on a coaching education week with the West Ham staff to further their knowledge of the West Ham approach to player development. Brooklyn Italians coaches will also be invited to visit the West Ham academy in London next winter.

Details of how you can register for the summer camp will be released shortly.
